Materialism at TEFAF

Studio_Drift_Materialism_Bike.jpg

Pace will participate in the 2019 edition of TEFAF Maastricht, featuring a collection of works by modern and contemporary masters. The centrepiece of Pace’s presentation will be a selection of paintings and drawings by Piet Mondrian, from the personal collection of fabled dealer and Mondrian’s close friend Sidney Janis that illustrate the emergence and significance of abstraction in modern art. Mondrian’s evolution and interest in nature resonate with Pace’s presentation of contemporary artists at TEFAF which includes Studio Drift’s new work from the Materialism series, Bicycle from 2018.

Materialism premiers at Frieze LA. Drift’s most recent work Materialism will be launched internationally at Frieze art fair in Los Angeles through Pace gallery.

Materialism confronts us on a very elementary level with the things we surround ourselves with and the materials that comprise them. The work calls for contemplation on how we deal with the raw materials at our disposal.
